Always wanted to tour The Plant, but never able to make it to our regular Saturday tour? Well, then this is your tour! Join Market Manager extraordinaire, Liz Lyon, on this learning journey through the circular economy every 1st and 3rd Thursday evening of the month.
The After Hours Tour features an in-depth explanation behind the circular economy concept of The Plant and Plant Chicago programming. On the tour you’ll get a nice dose of Chicago history exploring this 94,000 sq/ft former pork processing plant (est. 1925). You’ll see Plant Chicago’s aquaponic system, Bubbly Dynamics’ Packingtown Museum, Pleasant House Bakery, and much more.
Here’s the best part: after the tour, (or before, but no beers are allowed on the tour) you can enjoy some amazing brews in the Whiner Beer Co. taproom, open from 2-10 pm on Thursdays. Pleasant House Bakery will also be roasting up some delicious wood-fired pizza, available for purchase (to-go or eat-in) in the taproom. YUM.
Tour tickets are $10/adult, $7/student/senior (65+), and FREE for Back of the Yards residents (with proof of address). Click the button below to reserve your tickets in advance, or purchase them at the door. Either way, check in at Plant Chicago’s farmstand when you arrive. Our farmstand features delicious things from businesses at The Plant like cheese, kombucha, eggs, greens, saffron, and other merch, so be prepared to consume.
