Tamale Making with Temo's Tamales

Learn how to make your own tamales from scratch with Plant Chicago Farmers Market vendor Temo’s Tamales!

Join Temo and his family for this once in a lifetime workshop. All ingredients will be provided, prepared, and cooked during this hands-on class. They’ll go over every step and ingredient, giving you all the information you need to make tamales at home. They plan on demoing the following flavors – pork, chicken, and rajas con queso (peppers and cheese). Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.

About Temo’s Tamales:

Cuauhtemoc Rivera (Temo) has been selling tamales with his family at our market since 2015. During the week, Temo is a truck driver. On the weekends, he works with his Mother in law, Erolinda to make and sell delicious tamales! Erolinda works full time as a custodian for Chicago Public Schools, and she’s always making something special in the kitchen. According to Temo, “She’s a great cook, you know how some people just have ‘it’. Even a plate of beans tastes like a gourmet meal at her house.”  Temo’s dream is to start up a food truck selling their tamales.

This is their first-ever workshop, and it is not to be missed!
