Join Plant Chicago’s education team for an introduction to aquaponic growing (cultivating plants indoors using fish waste as fertilizer). Delve deeper into the science behind aquaponics with an in depth look at the nitrogen cycle. This class will be offered for free at the Harold Washington Library Maker Lab and is designed for adult learners and children accompanied by an adult. Participants will work in teams to build modular aquaponic systems out of predetermined materials (without actual fish/plants and not for taking home). This interactive workshop is fun for the whole family.
