Aqua-what? Aquaponics! Aquaponics is a method of farming that symbiotically combines fish and plants in a continuously cycling water-based growing system. We’ve partnered with Plant Chicago to bring you this 2-hour workshop where we’ll cover the history and background of aquaponic farming, the basic components of an aquaponic system, construction and plumbing, and the best practices for using reclaimed material suitable for plants and fish. The best part? Aquaponics can be done indoors meaning that you can grow year-round and not worry about Chicago winters! Take this class to find out how Aquaponic growing is a natural ecosystem that significantly reduces water, fertilizer, and pesticide usage.
