In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, Governor Pritzker and Mayor Lightfoot have recommended that all large public gatherings should be postponed in Illinois for the next 30 days.
While this is devastating news for our local food system and farmers market network, it is our responsibility as organizers to keep the public, our vendors, and our staff safe and healthy.
We acknowledge that in light of this health crisis, access to healthy, fresh, nutritious food is more important now than ever. We are also concerned about the impact this will have on our vendors and our local economy.
Rather than outright cancelling our March Indoor Farmers Market, we’ve worked with our vendors and Local Circular Economy Leaders Network to move our market online!
We have compiled resources for people to support Plant Chicago’s vendors through pick up locations, home delivery, or community shared agriculture (CSA) options.
