Virtual Closed Loop Lab: Pollinator Power!

This lab is recommended for grades K-6. 

Our Virtual Closed Loop Lab series is designed for teachers and parents looking to engage their students in science and sustainability topics through this quarantine era. Plant Chicago will be hosting virtual labs every Thursday from 1-2 pm through May. From aquaponics to waste audits, explore a new topic each week with Plant Chicago! Learn more about our programs on our education page.

If your students are able to attend, we invite you to share the workshop link and password with them in advance. After the workshop, we will send all attendees the full slide deck and recording of the presentation for you to incorporate into your curriculum if your students are unable to attend the day of.

Learn about the differences between native and non-native bees, the importance of pollinators for the environment and our food system, and what you can do to support these amazing creatures. She’ll cover how to make seed balls with native seeds, and how to make your own native bee habitat for your home or garden.

A link and password you can share with your students to a video conference call will be sent via email after you register.

*Please let us know in advance if you are anticipating more than 15 students so we can plan accordingly. Email info@plantchicago.org to let us know your group size and grade, or if you have any questions. We will send out some introductory materials to all RSVP’d guests on Tuesday 5/5.
