Volunteer Orientation

Plant Chicago offers various volunteer opportunities Saturdays from 10 am – 2 pm. This winter, volunteer tasks will include cleaning and maintaining our aquaponic system, continuing our indoor farmers market season, and tending to the chickens.

Our volunteer orientation consists of a brief explanation of The Plant and Plant Chicago programming, as well as examples of volunteer tasks. You’ll sign a waiver form and get acquainted with the building and some of Plant Chicago’s volunteers and staff.

If you are under 16 yrs old and would like to volunteer, we’ll need your parent/guardian to sign our waiver form. Volunteers 15 and younger must be accompanied by a guardian or adult chaperon while volunteering.

Once oriented, feel free to join us any Saturday between 10 am – 2 pm (please pack a lunch or plan on purchasing lunch if you stay for the full day).

Dress accordingly! Close-toed shoes are required, along with clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Feel free to reach out with any questions at info@plantchicago.org or check out our Facebook for more information!
