Volunteer Orientation

Want to volunteer with Plant Chicago? Join us for our next volunteer orientation!

Plant Chicago is a 501(c)3 non-profit located inside The Plant. Our mission is to cultivate local circular economies. We do this through education, farmers market, small business improvement, and research programs. Volunteer tasks range from working with our demonstration aquaponic systems, assisting with K-12 educational workshops, to helping out at the farmers market.

We typically offer volunteer opportunities every Saturday from 10 am – 2 pm, which you can sign up for in advance on our volunteer shift spreadsheet (which will be shared after the orientation). Please make sure to wear closed-toe shoes, a water bottle, and weather appropriate clothing you’re alright with getting dirty. If you plan on staying all day, please bring a snack or lunch!

Volunteers younger than 18 years of age must bring a parent or guardian to the orientation to sign our safety waiver.
